Experience Duck, Dove & Quail Hunting in MexicoMexico Duck, Dove & Quail Hunt
In the heart of Tamaulipas, in the northeast of Mexico you will find one of the most famous lakes in the world, Lake Guerrero. The surroundings of Lake Guerrero are the perfect habitat for millions of Whit winged doves and fast-flying wild quail. Dove shooting is nothing short of spectacular. Thousands of acres of corn and sorghum fields are close to the lodge. Extensive pre-hunt scouting keeps driving times to the shooting areas to a minimum. The surrounding countryside holds some of the largest concentrations of purely wild bobwhite quail in the world. One sportswriter called them, “the wildest, fastest quail he had ever seen.
The Hacienda conducts traditional walk-up quail hunts behind pointers on fence rows, tree and brush lines and in grain fields. Our dog handlers have extensive experience hunting quail in Mexico. We prefer to match three hunters with each handler and will not exceed four hunters per handler.
For duck hunts, we hunt right on Lake Guerrero out of custom made blinds that can be moved at a moments notice to the place where the ducks are harboring. Our master Waterfowler, will make your duck hunt a memorable experience.
FISHING IN TAMAULIPAS
At the Hacienda, the lake is quite literally at your doorstep. The distance from your bedroom to fishing one of the greatest bass lakes is only a hundred yards. Trophy-bass fishing is offered year-round at the Hacienda. The legendary Lake Guerrero is known worldwide for the number of record-class largemouth bass consistently caught here. The incredible scenery and thousands of acres of flooded timber is heaven on earth for any angler. A voluntary catch and release program now observed by most fishermen has made this great lake even better. The Hacienda maintains its own fleet of boats and has expert local guides. Our boats include 18’ fiberglass boats, Yamaha outboard motors and trolling motors. Also available for daily rental are rods, reels and you can purchase the “hottest baits ” from our tackle shop. Come join us for an experience of a lifetime!

LODGE INFORMATION
Constructed in 1984 by an American family, the Hacienda served many years as a private estate and vacation home often used for hunting and fishing. Three years ago, the lodge was sold and underwent a great deal of remodels to be the beautiful hospitable Lodge that it is today. Although small in room count, we take much pride in making sure that every detail is tended to, all the best amenities are given, and the service is beyond impeccable. Our luxurious facilities match our attentive personalized service we offer.
Located in Tamaulipas which is the northernmost state bordering Texas, also has so much to offer. Rich in agriculture, the land thrives on the production of grapefruits, oranges, and agaves. The terrain also makes a great home for being the land of amazing meats and cheeses. With an amazing new government in place, the safety and flourishing success of Tamaulipas is on the rise making it one of the most desirable places to visit for hunting and fishing in the Americans.

TRAVEL INFORMATION
One of the things our customers love most about a Gage expedition is that we take care of all the details, so they can focus on the good stuff: the hunt, the camaraderie, the adventure, the total experience. When it comes to your hunting trip, we aim to please.
Whether traveling to Mexico to our other hunting destinations, guests are greeted at the airport by bilingual staff. We will assist with customs, gun clearance (not recommended to bring guns) and transfers. Throughout your stay, you are accompanied by bilingual hosts who will do everything possible to make sure your trip is flawless.
BRINGING A FIREARM TO MEXICO
We do not recommend bringing a firearm on your hunt but if you decide on it we will assist you. If you have never brought a firearm to Mexico in the past or it’s not a breech loading firearm, the process is pretty simple.
If the above does not apply, you will need to get approval by mail or in person by appointment from the Mexican consulate closest to you.
